Metro and Trams are great. I recommend finding East Mediterranean food. It goes back to the Ottoman Empire influence and is superb. There is plenty of modern international grub too.

Thanks lads and sounds like I’m now sorted on the football, but may go hungry.

I had a good kebab there, but was only there for 2 days more like a beano, so wasn't a 'foodie' like trip. Did you go down on the subway, it's very fucking old?

If you like Levant food its superb. Israeli/Lebanese/Turkish. I also went to some restaurants doing modern Hungarian that blew me away. I never had bad food once. Well, except some massive Belle Epoch cafe for breakfast with a queue that was average.
I like to search our great food though so I cant comment on the vast majority of eateries.

Been twice in the last couple of years.
Food is superb. Local wines superb. Ruin bars. Outdoor baths. Easy to get round. Good value. People were nice.

Re: Budapest
Was there last year for the first time, was a little disappointed with the place, it's okay but I wouldn't rush back, and agree the food is shit.

Cheers is the best bet I think, it's not that visible from the street and have to go the stairs. It's a good pub, but they only show the football on streams in there..

Totally agree about the taxi drivers. We had one that took us over the same bridge twice, then had a ruck when I pointed that out..

Some nice bars in the centre, but very hit and miss.. Food is shit.

Richyp - Incredible advise for the incredibly fucking stupid. What about don't put ice in your drinks?

Re: Budapest
And watch for scammers, notably taxi drivers over charging and girls who are way out of your league showing an interest and inviting you to a bar with them!

Re: Budapest
I’ve visited Budapest quite a few times with work. Best sports bar I found was a place called Champs.
